Brantingham Lake Memories
Fall morning stillness - our white boathouse is seen at far right across the lake. The water has been lowered to avoid winter ice damage. Click to enlarge image.

I love upstate New York, the Adirondacks in particular. I've canoed many miles in the Fulton Chain, and visited many other of the beautiful waters in the region, from the Finger Lakes to the ocean. You're lucky to have a place there!
I grew up in Central New York through high school. The Finger Lakes area is beautiful, but the Adirondacks are my real love.
Sadly, I have not been to the lake house in years. The camp first came into my mother's family in 1938 and happily my mother was able to make one last visit the summer before she died. Maybe this coming summer - my partner has never been to that part of New York.
