New polls by American Research Group of 1,100 respondents taken from July 3-5, found that 54% of Americans favored impeachment of Vice President Cheney. Only 17% of Republicans in the poll favored the impeachment of Cheney, while 76% of Democrats supported the move in the House of Representatives. However, of independents polled, a slight majority of 51%, also supported impeaching the Vice President. The numbers for impeachment of Bush show an almost event split for those other than those in the undecided category.The poll also reflected deep disapproval of President George W. Bush's commutation of Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" 84% oppose a full pardon for Libby.

You may not realize that the only thing standing between where we are today and a nationally televised impeachment investigation is the House Judiciary passing this resolution, which is currently awaiting consideration in their
committee. Luckily, the head of this committee, John Conyers, has said recently that he is supportive and encourages the national impeachment movement.
All we need to push it over the edge is public support, and that's where we come in.

Interesting, when Senator Russ Feingold raised the specter of impeachment of our Dyarchy, not one Democrat could be found to second his motion. The Duarchy continued, without much in the way of "opposition." Indeed, the junior senator from New York continued to cheer for the Duarchy's War, until public opinion changed, then it's "Bush's War," conveniently omitting that it was hers too, until public opinion baled on her.
