The Embrace of Ignorance

The sign pictured above is real as best I can tell and it speaks volumes of the regressive influence fundamentalist religion is in the world, regardless of whether it goes under the name of Christianity, Islam or something else. I'm sorry, but facts DO MATTER and the world would be a far better place if more individuals accepted facts and modern knowledge be it on sexual orientation, climate change and a host of other issues. In my view, fundamentalist religion - and by this I include much of the Catholic Church' 13th century mindset - is the enemy of progress and human well being. It's about time our news outlets and journalists stop giving deference to a toxic influence in the world.
