Nancy Pelosi Statement on ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Policy

It seems that the Speaker of the House may not be falling for the attempt by Robert Gates and Mike Mullen to torpedo a repeal of DADT. And in the process, she's upped ante for the spineless wonder a/k/a Barack Obama. In response to the letter sent by Gates, Nancy Pelosi has issued a brief press release that calls on Obama to suspend discharges under DADT while waiting for further action from the Department of Defense. With a clear majority of Americans supporting the repeal of DADT, one has to wonder why Obama is so afraid of the issue and/or who the Hell he's listening to - I sure hope it's not bloated homophobe Rick Warren. Here's the information of Pelosi's webpage:

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement in response to a letter sent this afternoon by Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Defense Secretary Robert Gates concerning the repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy:
*
“We all look forward to the report on the review of the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy by the Defense Department. In the meantime, the Administration should immediately place a moratorium on dismissals under this policy until the review has been completed and Congress has acted.”
