With Pat Robertson's endorsement of Rudy Giuliani, I truly hope some in the media will put Giuliani on the spot concerning Robertson's many hate-filled and utterly whacked out positions. People for the American Way has put together a great summary of what exactly Robertson brings with his endorsement baggage wise (http://www.rightwingwatch.org/2007/11/the_perils_of_w.html?tr=y&auid=3166292). I recommend this page to you and hope it is enlightening and useful. Here are a few of Robertson's documented positions (the man is truly insane):
Abortion - 700 Club, 10-18-89 “First of all, the Supreme Court ruled that unborn babies weren’t human beings under the Constitution, and therefore we started an orgy of slaughter of our young...At that point we have said, our judges are waffling on life, our politicians refuse to act, and our people want to destroy unborn human life. And so God says, `Alright, if you continue the slaughter of the innocent, I’m going to begin to slaughter you.’”
Affirmative Action - 700 Club, 6-14-95 “There are groups in our society who are extremely able. The Chinese, for example, Asian-Americans, they’re extremely able and they always score high and are disproportionately represented in the high levels. Same thing generally with the Jewish people. They are very high achievers. They don’t like quotas because it will discriminate against them. If you say, `Well, you can only have five Chinese and two Jews, and so forth, and you’ve got to have fifteen Hispanics, etcetera.’ then all of sudden those people are denied their opportunities. And they are very intelligent and very vocal in society, and this is one of the reasons you’re seeing these decisions, I think. It’s unfair to these achieving groups, if you will, to deny them opportunities merely because they are of the wrong ethnic group. They consider it un-American.”
AIDS - 700 Club, 2-26-92 “It’s time...to treat this like any other disease and use all the public health standards including isolating the people who have it and knowing who they are and taking precautions about it.”
War on Christians - 700 Club, 9-18-97 “In America, if somebody’s a woman, a female -- protected. If somebody’s Hispanic -- protected. If somebody’s an Asian -- protected. If somebody’s an African American -- protected. If somebody’s Native American -- protected. If somebody’s disabled -- they’re protected. If somebody’s a homosexual -- protected. If somebody’s a Christian -- anathema. I mean no protection whatsoever to this group in America or anyplace else. And the politically correct philosophy being taught in our school does not encompass the rights of Christians.”
Homosexuality - 700 Club, 5-6-82 “You know, one of the great misnomers in our society is the term `gay.’ That somebody who is involved in something that is leading to suicide, where the V.D. rate is 11 times that of others, which are almost driven and ashamed and fearful and confused and psychotic and all the others that we read about plaguing this part of our society. The term gay is the most serious misuse of the English language. They’re not gay, they’re very, very depressed and miserable.” 700 Club, 1-21-93 “When lawlessness is abroad in the land, the same thing will happen here that happened in Nazi Germany. Many of those people involved in Adolph Hitler were Satanists. Many of them were homosexuals. The two things seem to go together.”
Other Religious Beliefs - 700 Club, 9-11-89 “Hinduism and many of the occult activities that come out of the Orient are inspired by demons and demon worship...There’s this concept that all religions are the same and all are good. That is not true. The worship of the Devil is not good.” 700 Club, 1-7-91 “[W]hat is Hinduism but Devil worship, ultimately?” 700 Club, 1-14-91 “You say, ‘You’re supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing.’ Nonsense. I don’t have to be nice to the spirit of the anti-Christ. I can love the people who hold false opinions, but I don’t have to be nice to them.”
Teaching Evolution - 700 Club, 11-10-05 “I’d like to say to the good citizens of Dover. If there is a disaster in your area, don’t turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city. And don’t wonder why He hasn’t helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I’m not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that’s the case, don’t ask for His help because he might not be there.”
Women - Fundraising Letter, 1992 “The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.”

It has been many many long years since I watched the 700 club. It made so much more sense to me when I was in my late teens/early 20s. That, of course, was before my brain was fully developed.
This guy is nutsy.
"I can love them but I don't have to be nice to them"
???
Please check the meaning of love.
Thanks, Michael, for this collection of quotes.
