Carrie Prejean - the Gift that Keeps on Giving

Carrie Prejean is truly the gift that keeps on giving and in the process she makes the folks at the National Organization for Marriage and similar Christo-fascist organizations that leap to her defense look like total imbeciles to the larger public (which, of course, these haters are in reality anyways). Each time I think I have posted for the last time about her, some new and damaging information comes out. It now seems that Ms. Prejean lied yet again to her supporters, and instead of "one mistake" she made a number of mistakes: in fact eight porn videos that are reportedly now in the possession of a porn distributor. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing a flaming hypocrite hoisted on her own petard. The fact that she has made Maggie Gallagher and her fellow money grubbing homophobes at NOM look like jack asses is just a nectar sweet bonus. The Gawker has the latest revelations on Ms. Prejean's tawdry past:

Sex Tape Backlash: Carrie Prejean Dumped by "Defenders of the Family"

I for one hope that former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean's 15 seconds of fame are over now that her xxx-rated sex tape escapades are known to the knuckle draggers of the Christian Right. I do have to wonder, however, why it took the homophobes so long to figure out that they were being played by Ms. Fake Boobs. Not surprisingly, the New Jersey Family Policy Council never responded to my e-mail asking for a comment on Ms. Prejean's now aborted appearance. Here are some highlights from the Examiner:

The dethroned Miss California USA was scheduled to be the headliner at a Defenders of the Family fundraiser, but she was removed from the roster following news that her XXX solo sex tape essentially nullified her religious discrimination lawsuit against the Miss USA pageant.

A spokesman for the anti-gay New Jersey Family Policy Council, which organized the event, wouldn't tell TMZ who canceled the appearance or why. Nor would her reps return phone calls about it. Bitchy Discussion of Prejean Sex Tape

Fran Drescher, Aisha Tyler, and Sandra Bernhard join Joy Behar to discuss Carrie Prejean's sex tape. Meanwhile, I have received no response to my e-mail to the New Jersey Family Policy Council requesting an update on whether Ms. Prejean will still be a speaker at today's "Defender of the Family" event. Something tells me that I won't be getting a response. Nothing is more satisfying that seeing phony, hypocritical, false Christians get their comeuppance. UPDATED: Jeremy Hooper at Good As You has a hysterical take on Carrie Prejean's upcoming appearance in New Jersey tomorrow as part of a "Defenders of the Family" freak show. Given the new details on her porn video - which Jeremy mentions - it will be interesting to see if she suddenly has a scheduling problem or some other lame excuse for not showing up.

Well, well, well. I cannot say that I am surprised - the self-anointed and self absorbed gay-hating Christianists always seem to be the ones with the weird kinky sex history - but it certainly is a case of sweet divine justice that former Miss California USA has a secret sex video that has recently surfaced. Yes, the very same Carrie Prejean who claimed to be a persecuted Christian because her anti-gay views and was embraced by the professional haters at NOM. I wonder what Maggie Gallagher has to say about the less than pure Ms. Prejean. In my estimation Pejean - and Gallagher as well - are opportunistic self-worshippers who in reality are amoral and are for sale for whatever cause they believe will allow them to rake in money. Miss California USA Pagent Suing Carrie Prejean

Carrie Prejean, the homophobic former Miss California who was stripped of her crown, is a gift that keeps on giving. Now the pageant is suing Ms. Prejean - who seems to be increasingly delusional and sees herself as some kind of religious martyr - for breach of contract and to recover moneys she received improperly using her short lived title. Any monetary recovery is to be given to charities that will counter some of the hatred that Ms. Christian Taliban has generated. The principal thing that I hope comes out is what a self absorbed, lying psycho Prejean is in reality. Of course, that type of personality makes her a perfect fit with the professional Christians who are only to happy to play along with her image of false martyrdom. I hope the pageant also sues to recover the cost of her boob job too. Here are some highlights from LBGT Pov:

She had our funding [for breast augmentation, among other things] – and once she was done with what she needed from us, then she went about her own agenda and hijacked our crown and our banner and used it for her own gain.”

Anti-Gay Zealots With Self-Claimed Direct Line to God

I always wonder about the mental health issues involved with right wingers who have the hubris to believe that somehow they have a direct communications link to God and that somehow God directs their anti-gay bigotry to accomplish his/her/its goals. Two recent case of this delusional phenomenon are former Miss USA, Carrie Prejean and Arizona Governor, Jan Brewer (pictured at left). In the case of Prejean, having lost her crown for refusing to follow the terms of her contract, she is promoting herself as a darling of the Christianists and just appeared at the objective reality free Family Research Council "Values Voter Summit" in Washington, D.C. According to Prejean, who has become a professional victim of the gay agenda, "I knew God had a plan for me… God chose me for that moment. He knew I was strong enough to get through all the junk that I have been through.” Here some more of Prejean's diarrhea of the mouth via the Los Angeles Times:

What she went through, she said, was “a vicious storm of attacks,” including being vulgarly insulted by Hilton in an Internet video, and having her parents’ divorce records published by tabloids. She has also had a series of legal tangles with the Miss USA pageant, whose owner, Donald Trump, initially stood by her, as well as the company that owns the Miss California pageant, which she sued after it revoked her crown.

“Even though I didn’t win the crown that night,” said Prejean, tearing up, “I know the Lord has so much of a bigger crown in heaven for me.”

As relatively harmless as the delusional and overly self-important Prejean may be, such delusions are far more dangerous when held by public officials. Jan Brewer is a prime example. The good governor just rescinded domestic partnership rights in Arizona basically because these legal rights do not fit with her crazy, discriminatory religious beliefs. One would think that after 8 years of the Chimperator's delusional misrule that people would know better than to elect religious fruitcakes to office (yes, that includes Taliban Bob McDonnell and the utterly insane Ken Cuccinelli here in Virginia). In a wide-ranging speech on the role of religion in politics and in her life, Brewer detailed to a group of pastors of the Missouri Synod of the Lutheran Church how she relies on her faith and in prayer to deal with many of the issues she faces as the state's chief executive.

Brewer also said there are times when, during a meeting with staffers, one will suggest praying about an issue. "And we stop, and we take that time, and we pray about it," Brewer, a Missouri Synod-Lutheran herself, told the group meeting here. "And it does make a difference."

Brewer reminded the ministers how she did not seek to become governor but "inherited many, many, many significant challenges that still confront Arizona citizens today" when she got the job after Janet Napolitano quit to take a job as homeland security chief in the Obama administration.

The Missouri Synod Lutherans are the far right segment of Lutherans who view gays and the separation of church and state with as much disdain as Pat Robertson and similar Christo-fascists who have nothing but contempt for the religious freedoms of other citizens. The ELCA and Missouri Synod are light years apart in their approach to gay Christians.

Trump Finally Fires Prejean

Anti-gay bimbo Carrie Prejean has belatedly been fired by Donald Trump and lost her Miss California crown. From the media coverage, Trump finally had enough of Prejean's attitude that she could do whatever she wants including ignoring her contractual duties as Miss California. It would be wonderful if she'd simply fade away from the scene but based on her past behavior we may not be that lucky. I will not be surprised if she doesn't try to depict herself as a Christian martyr somehow. She and the anti-gay Christianist forces truly deserve each other. Donald Trump has told TMZ that he has finally relented and has given the go-ahead to fire Carrie Prejean. Here's the official word. K2 Productions, the independent producers of the Miss California USA pageant, under license from Miss Universe, mention continued breach-of-contract issues as the reason for Prejean's firing.

"This was a business decision, based solely on contract violations," Keith Lewis, executive director of K2 Productions, said in the docs. "After our press conference in New York, we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.” Even Trump says that Carrie just wouldn't do the job she agreed to do and she behaved like a B-word to everyone but him. I know, I know - I said I was finished posting about Carrie Prejean, Miss California USA turned darling of the Christian Right and the anti-gay marriage forces. However, Ms. Prejean is turning into the gift that keeps on giving - delight to to those of us who are sick of the self-anointed keepers of morality and I suspect increasing horror amongst the Christianists. Turns out that Ms. Prejean likes to flash her God given - or perhaps pageant sponsored - hooters off to photographers. Perhaps Pam Spaulding at Pam's House Blend says it best. I had pretty much decided to say nothing further about Carrie "I'm A Gay Hating Valley Girl" Prejean figuring that her 15 seconds of fame will likely burn out. But then I saw this post by Timothy Kincaid at Box Turtle Bulletin which wonderfully showcases the hypocrisy that has become the hallmark of the professional Christian and "family values" set. Apparently, it's fine to be slutty and sleazy with fake breasts as long as you hate the gays. And people wonder why Christianity is gaining an increasingly bad name among the younger generation? Miss California Continues to Prove She's an Ignorant Ass

I have not said too much about the Miss USA Pageant and Kool-Aid drinker Carrie Prejean, but the more she talks, the more she shows her ignorance and the dishonesty that is the hallmark of her chosen form of Christian faith. Everyone is free to hold whatever religious beliefs that they want, but one would hope that they would at least check out the lies they are parroting before looking foolish on national television. Turns out that Ms. Prejean's church traffics in discredited lies and bogus research disseminated by Paul Cameron. Since Cameron and his alleged research work have been discredited for over THIRTY (30) YEARS, there is little excuse for reciting his lies unless one is acting from bigotry. The Christianists may want to hold up Ms. Prejean as a role model, but I think she's going to ultimately become a huge negative for the hate merchants. I looked at the church’s webpage and found there to be a lot of inaccurate information, particularly regarding gays and HIV:male homosexuals are 430 times more likely to contract HIV than a heterosexual, while heterosexuals have a 1-in-750,000 chance of contracting the virus responsible for HIV, a male homosexual has a 1-in-165 chance of getting HIV. A 20 year old gay male has a 30% chance of either dying or contracting AIDS before the age of 30. They are also 23 times more likely to get other sexually transmitted diseases than a heterosexual.

The idea that homosexuality and pedophilia are linked is a lie that has been refuted continuously. The American Psychological Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the American Academy of Child Psychiatrists and the Child Welfare League of America all say that the homosexuality and pedophilia are not linked.So where did that notion come from? The discredited researcher Paul Cameron.

It looks to me as if the Rock Church is precisely the type of church that over time will drive thinking people from organized religion. Lies and deliberate ones at that do not exactly jive with the Gospel message of Christ. I hope that ultimately, Ms. Prejean will get her head out of her ass and perhaps do some independent study before she shoots her mouth off further.

Alabama Insanity Alert

I've commented before about my years in Alabama right out of law school and my belief that the state has lurched way further to the Neanderthal far right than when I lived there. To further prove my point, Alabama state representative Jay Love of Montgomery pictured at left - no doubt either a shameless opportunists pandering to far right voters or a self-hating closet case (or both) - has introduced a resolution in the Alabama Legislature which supports Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean, who was criticized for say­ing she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman and who now blames her loss of the Miss USA crown on the judges critical of her religious views. With all of the problems facing Alabama which typically ranks near the bottom of almost all categories, this is the type of crap Love wants to waste time over. Alabama is a beautiful state and could be a fabulous place to live and relocate businesses to but for the increasing crazy loons such as Mr. Love (and all of the Republicans in the Legislature) who scare away anyone with a shred of progressive thinking and a belief in the separation of church and state. Hopefully, some day the general population of the state will wake up to just how badly their long term interests have been served by Christianists like Love.
