I spoke with my son on the telephone minutes ago and and he happily reported that he had been allowed some solid food and that there was a chance he might get to be released at the end of the day if all continued to look good. He will not be able to work for a couple of weeks - he has been working as a waiter and carrying heavy trays would NOT be a good thing - and will need to avoid anything strenuous for several weeks. Obviously, this is all very good news. Thank you to all of you that have kept Pete in your thoughts and prayers.
