FRC Admits It Wants it's Religious Beliefs Written Into Nation's Laws

I have long argued that the Christianists want to subvert the U. S. Constitution and enshrine their particularly toxic and divisive religious beliefs written into the nation's laws. Indeed, they want their beliefs to trump the U. S. Constitution and destroy the right of freedom of religion for all others. Now, this agenda has been confirmed by Family Research Council's Senior Vice President, Rob Schwarzwalder, who flat out stated as much in the context of FRC's vociferous - and dishonest - opposition to the repeal of DADT. The irony, of course, is that the Christianists are quick to demand draconian punishments for those who they claim subvert the Constitution yet they themselves are arguably guilty of treason. Jeremy Hooper at Good As You has these comments on Schwarzwalder's theocratic goals:
*
Rob Schwarzwalder, comes right out and admits the obvious: That opponents of open service want their personally-held faith views written into law. Period. . . . What the hell is your point, Mr. Schwarzwalder? We're talking about the U.S. Constitution here, not anyone's personal prayers!!
*
Here, via FRC's blog, is some of Schwarzenwalder's in theory potentially treasonous batshitery if held and acted upon by members of the U. S. military who have sworn to uphold and defend the U. S. Constitution which, last time I looked, barred the establishment of any particular religious dogma as a national religion:
*
The objections many men and women in uniform, and their families, have toward allowing homosexuals to serve in the Armed Forces are not grounded in “feelings.” . . . Homosexuality is described as a sin against God in both biblical Testaments. Those of us who believe the Bible’s commands transcend time and any society’s “growing acceptance” (Sec. Gates’ phrase) will remain opposed to the “mainstreaming” of homosexuality, period. That’s a moral statement, Mr. Secretary. It’s not a feeling. It will not change until the Bible changes, which is, for the record, never.
*
The bottom line is that Christianists in the military either need to get onboard the concept of freedom of religion for all - including gay Americans - or else they need to get out of the military as soon as their current tours end. To me, it would be a case of good riddance.
