I really wonder what mental illness, serious head trauma or serious mind altering drug use afflicts the far right Christianists in their headlong rush to embrace ignorance and - I'm sorry to say - downright insanity. I've mentioned the Christianists' evolution denying fantasy world as represented by the Creation Museum in Kentucky before. Now the "museum" and its supporters are achieving new levels of untethered insanity with plans to build a "full-scale wooden replica of Noah's Ark based on biblical descriptions." Yep, they're using the same Bible descriptions as the basis for their "replica" that have proven wrong in so many ways ranging from being off on the dates of supposed historic events by hundreds of years and minor things like the belief that the Sun revolved around the earth. One truly could not make up stuff this crazy. Oh, did I mention that they plan to have dinosaurs on their ark? Here are highlights from WLWT-TV:

The Creation Museum will announce details Wednesday afternoon of its planned expansion. Answers In Genesis, which built and operates the religious-themed attraction, plans to build a full-scale wooden replica of Noah's Ark based on biblical descriptions. The $24.5 million project will be constructed by the same team that built the Creation Museum.

"We see a full-scale, wooden ark as something so significant that it will shake up this nation," Ham said. "It would be a clear reminder to America about the truths of the Bible. The building of a huge ark is a unique and powerful opportunity to reach millions in our nation (and around the world) with a bold statement: God's word is true."
*
The new park will be built on land owned by the museum, which presents an account of the origins of the universe and life that matches the book of Genesis. This interpretation of prehistory is generally at odds with scientific consensus . . .
