Living Well By Peddling Hate

I have said repeatedly that a large motivation for the Christianists' anti-gay jihad stems not from sincerely held religious beliefs but rather from their love of the money they can rake it from the ignorant and uninformed, thus providing themselves with a very comfortable living. Feeling self-important with media interviews, etc., likely also place a part in motivating them to peddle hatred towards other people. It's all pretty sick, and Scott_NC over at Pam's House Blend has done some homework to demonstrate how working against gay equality allows Maggie Gallagher to live quite well. Personally, it's not much different than receiving blood money, but then truth, ethics and common decency aren't high on the true agenda of the Christianists. Here are some highlights that Scott unearthed:

Beyond Maggie Gallagher receiving over $20,000 from the Bush misAdministration to "promote marriage" through her syndicated columns (without disclosing that she was being paid to write her opinions), she also serves as President, National Organization for Marriage (NOM) and as President for the Institute for Marriage and Public Policy (www.iMAPP.org). I've not been able to find NOM's IRS form 990's online yet, but a look at the one's filed for Institute for Marriage and Public Policy very clearly show that the woman pockets about 1/3 of the donations in the salary she pays herself alone.

[O]ver that 3 year period [2005-2008] of time, people donated $1,025,894 – and Maggie put $345,333 (33%) straight into her own pocketbook. Plus any other benefits and travel. And this is just from one organization out of the many hate-gay-for-pay revenue streams she's gotten set up for herself.

No wonder they’re in such a panic as more and more Americans think that gays and lesbians should have the equal treatment of their unions – the gravy train is running out. They may have to get real jobs.

Maggie Gallagher are worse than modern day Pharisees. They are like leeches who make a living off of sucking life out of others and all the while parading around acting pious. It's beyond disgusting and they truly give the term "Christian" a filthy connotation.

Divorce Wars - Continued

I am happy to report that the depositions went far better than expected today and there really was no gay bashing - perhaps in party because my attorney let the other side know that he had the phone number for the duty judge's chambers (by coincidence the judge on duty today goes to my church and knows me, so I almost wish they'd acted up) at his finger tips and would call the judge if anything in appropriate was said or asked.

However, afterwards the estranged spouse's made a settlement proposal that would buy me my complete freedom - the price: essentially everything I have except my law firm, my highly mortgaged house and a ten year old car. She even wants all my IRA's. In short, 30 years of work and largely nothing to show for it. Meanwhile, she still has no full time job notwithstanding all her education and advanced degree and doctoral course work (she's a real blood sucker). Needless to say, her "settlement" is NOT acceptable. I will submit a counter offer, but do not know where the warfare is headed.

The moral to any of you closet cases thinking of getting married to women - DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT DO IT!!!!!! And the moral if you are married and coming out, DO NOT LET THEM PLAY ON YOUR MISPLACED SENSE OF GUILT so that you are overly generous. They will turn on you before it's over. I went out of my way to be generous and to do the right thing by the estranged wife and my thanks is that she wants to totally fuck me over. I guess no good deed goes unpunished as they say. She's so eaten up with hate and anger that she has become a total stranger to me.

I am sorry if my tone is so cold, but it upsets me to no end that I worked hard and sacrificed, and now I receive credit for none of it. I guess I was a total fool.
