2016 - Key West - Day 5

Sunset cruise with a client and friends - a definite trip highlight

Sadly, we are back home in Hampton after another unpleasant return trip via American Airlines: we got home at 1:15 am.  Yesterday's posting was minimal due to Internet and computer issues as well as the lengthy time involved in traveling home and the many hours spent sitting at Reagan National Airport.  That said, the last day in Key West was enjoyable and returning home to Hampton reminded me how much I hate cold weather!

The morning was spent first my checking my office e-mail,  Then a couple of hours reading in the sun before walking to a local Cuban restaurant, El Siboney, for lunch.  Then it was shopping for last minute gifts for the grandchildren before  taking a cab to the airport to begin the much longer than expected trip home.

Today, it is back to the grind and the chaos of private law practice.

2016 - Key West - Day 3

Lattitudes - view from our table (click image to enlarge)
Yesterday was an over the top day and once again I find myself thinking that I could move to Key West permanently in a heart beat.  Even though I grew up through high school in Central New York, I truly have come to hate winter and the cold.  With bad weather hitting the Northeast and coastal Virginia, the low 80's temperatures here are even more.  We had a lazy morning near the pool at the Equator before venturing to Lattitudes on Sunset Key for lunch with two of the husband's salon clients who have winter homes on Marathon Key.  The views from the restaurant are stunning as the image above makes clear.  The food was great, and the drinks even better:

Key Lime martini

After lunch and the launch ride back to the mainland, we took it easy near the pool and talked with other guest - who range from various countries around the world and all over the USA - and detoxed before heading to a sunset Tea Dance aboard a 65 foot catamaran.  Picture a dance club on the water with scenic views and about 120 party goers and you get an idea of the fun.  What was nice was the range of ages and ethnicities and the fun vibe shared by all.  Here are a few photos:

So far today, the only plan is to hit La Te Da's Tea Dance at 4:00 PM this afternoon.
