Join Us in Supporting Tim Kaine for U. S. Senate

For longer term readers, it's no secret that I've not always been overly happy with Tim Kaine's lack of aggressiveness on LGBT rights issues. However, since his likely opponent next year for the U. S. Senate seat being vacated by Jim Webb will be George Allen, supporting Kaine is an easy decision. Besides having George Allen's previous stint in the Senate as a guide to what another term would look like, I also have the advantage of knowing Allen for over 35 years. We were law school class mates, in fact, and while I will concede that personally he's not a bad guy and can be actually quite personable, he's intellectually lazy and all too prone to listen to the most hate-filled elements of the GOP and The Family Foundation which is viciously anti-gay . In short, he NOT what Virginia needs in the U. S. Senate. Consequently, the boyfriend and I are helping in hosting a fundraiser for Kaine on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, and I hope local readers will consider attending. Here are the details.
