Virginian Pilot Runs First Gay Wedding Announcement

I can just imagine what some of the letters to the editor will read like as the local Kool-Aid drinkers become unhinged over the Virginian Pilot's new policy whereunder gay wedding and commitment ceremony announcements will be published in the Weddings/Engagements section of the Sunday newspaper. The first such announcement ran today and I'm, sure that Pat Robertson and other extreme homophobes like Victoria Cobb of Daddy Dobson's Virginia affiliate, The Family Foundation, will be doing their best to flood the newspaper with angry letters containing threats to cancel subscriptions or worse. The world and society are changing and I am happy to see the Pilot adjusting to the new reality. Here is the first announcement to run under the new policy:
*
Joseph Jagodzinski & Thomas Brown
*
Thomas Brown and Joseph G. Jagodzinski Jr. to wed. Irene and Joe Jagodzinski of Virginia Beach, VA (formerly of Stamford, CT) are pleased to announce that their son Joseph Jagodzinski Jr. will wed Thomas Brown, son of the late Wesley C. and Marjorie J. Brown of Slippery Rock, PA. The two will be wed in an outdoor ceremony in Stanley Park, Vancouver, B.C., Canada at the beginning of August 2009. Joe earned his Bachelor`s degree from Slippery Rock University while Thom is a graduate of Westminster College.
*
I wish much happiness to Thomas and Joseph and applaud their decision to run the engagement announcement. Having visited Vancouver several years back, I know that Stanley Park will provide an amazing setting for their wedding.

I wonder how many Christies took their copy of the newspaper to church Sunday to burn during Allah sacrifice services and then be re-Baptised and undergo exorsim for reading about the Demon engagement.
