What's Really Important to Catholics

The chart above underscores how increasingly out of touch the Catholic Church hierarchy has become with the rank and file laity. Even as the U.S. bishop meet to plan an increased anti-gay jihad, 65% of Catholics are not concerned about gay marriage. The bishops clearly view the Church as their own private institution and the laity is supposed to shut up, ask no questions, and of course, continue to hand over its hard earned money so that corpulent demagogues like Archbishop Dolan of New York can continue to eat well and live the good life.
