Peter, Paul & Mary To NOM: Stop Using Our Song

The ever toxic and dishonest folks at the National Organization for Marriage ("NOM") - a/k/a Maggie Gallagher and Brian Brown's self-enrichment program - have been playing Peter Paul and Mary's version of Woody Guthrie's This Land Is Your Land at NOM's hate fests. It goes without saying that Guthrie would not in any way support NOM's theocratic agenda nor would the remaining members of Peter Paul and Mary (Mary Travers sadly died last year). Fortunately, Peter Yarrow has demanded that NOM cease and desist in using the group's version of Guthrie's protest song at its events. NOM stands for exactly what Guthrie opposed in America. Yarrow's letter is set out above. In fact, Yarrow makes it clear that the remaining members of the group SUPPORT gay marriage. Whenever Gallagher and Brown are involved, the safest assumption is that lies and deceit are the norm. The misuse of this famous song is yet another such example.
