It is a gorgeous morning and I was up early enough to see the sun still low in the sky and its rays sweeping over the mountains. From my mom's living room window, there is a beautiful view down over a lake in the bottom of the valley with the profiles of Brown's Mountain and Monticello Mountain in the near distance. The season's always are several weeks behind the weather in Tidewater where our climate is greatly moderated by the ocean and all the rivers and other bodies of water. Here, it is still more wintery looking, although daffodils are blooming and buds can be seen on the trees. Some of the flowering pear and cherry trees are beginning to bloom as well. All and all very beautiful. I have posted a fall view of Charlottesville by air, a shot of historic Michie Tavern which is just up the road and a view of the mountains. One other thing that is interesting when visiting the area is the fact that there are 21 wineries nearby (http://www.monticellowinetrail.com/sections/history.html)

Happy Easter morning, Michael. I hope you have a fulfilling worship experience this morning. (i.e. don't go to church with your mother!)
Thanks for more beautiful shots of Charlottesville. :-)
I had forgotten how truly beautiful Virginia and the Blue Ridge can be. Thanks for these reminders.
Happy Easter!
