Catholic Site Now Quoting Paul Cameron Lies

Admittedly, I have no love for the Roman Catholic Church and as a "recovering Catholic," it upsets me seeing the Church continuing to fu*k up peoples lives the way it did mine. However, some Catholic groups have now stooped to new lows and are quoting Paul Cameron as a credible expert. For those who do not know Cameron's history - which includes being thrown out of every legitimate professional association due to his fraudulent research and distortion of the work of others - a bio on Cameron cane be found here. Quack, fraud and liar are among the terms that spring to mind when I hear Cameron's name. A case in point is LifeSiteNews.com which is carrying an article arguing that having more children is linked to enjoying a longer life. From this premise, the article then becomes an anti-gay piece focusing on the "health dangers of homosexual lifestyle." Had LifeSiteNews done a little research of its own, it would have discovered that ALL of Cameron's claims have been discredited. Here's how these intellectual light weights quote Cameron, thereby demonstrating that the publication is either a rag or has some agenda other than reporting the truth (the award photo is from Box Turtle Bulletin):

While the UM study shows the health benefits of the traditional large family, other recent studies have revealed the health dangers of non-traditional social relations. A recent study found that individuals taking part in legal same-sex "marriages" in Norway and Denmark lived 24 fewer years than individuals in traditional marriages, Drs. Paul and Kirk Cameron reported at the 2007 annual Eastern Psychological Association convention.

"Given the greatly reduced lifespan for homosexuals, school children should be strongly and consistently warned about the dangers of homosexuality even more so than smoking. Those school districts which are introducing pro-gay curricula need to rethink their priorities," argued Dr. Paul Cameron.

A study that appeared in the 1997 International Journal of Epidemiology found that homosexual lifestyle reduced life expectancy 8 to 20 years. Despite the findings of their own work, the research group distanced themselves from "homophobic" claims that the homosexual lifestyle is unhealthy or destructive.
