In what may be belated just deserts for the national Republican Party, a new CNN poll reveals that a majority blame Congress' inability to address the nation's urgent needs on excessive partisanship. And we all know which Party has been the "Party of No." Whether or not the GOP will wake up to the fact that folks are catching on to their obstructionism and the disservice that is being done to the country. Perhaps today's lopsided vote in the House of Representatives to repeal the health insurance industry exemption from anti-trust laws is a sign that members of the GOP are waking up to the wrath they may face come November if much needed legislation and programs continue to be blocked. Here are some highlights from CNN:
*
Two-thirds of Americans think that the Republicans in Congress are not doing enough to cooperate with President Barack Obama, according to a new national poll. . . . Sixty-seven percent of people questioned in the poll say that the GOP is not doing enough to cooperate with the White House, up 6 points from last April. Americans appear split on whether the president is doing enough to reach out to the Republicans, with 52 percent saying Obama's not doing enough to cooperate with the GOP and 47 percent saying he is doing enough to reach across the political aisle.
*
According to CNN poll numbers released Sunday, Americans overwhelmingly think that the government in this country is broken, but the public overwhelmingly holds out hope that what's broken can be fixed.

Clearly, the question is now one of whether or not Republicans are going to put the country first or contribute to block progress and pander to the lunatic fringe within the tea party set.
