Bill Clinton Delivers on Proposition 8

I will confess - maybe it's the former Republican in me - I have never liked Bill Clinton. The man is obviously a great political talent, but sadly he never accomplished what might have been done for this country largely because he is too undisciplined much of the time and has a real problem keeping his zipper in a closed position. Nonetheless, I am impressed with what he has done to support the "No on 8" effort in California. Like him or not, he has come through and put his own standing behind defeating the Christianist/Mormon effort to amend the California Constitution via calls going out to California voters. Here's what he says in the call:
*
“This is Bill Clinton calling to ask you to vote NO on Proposition 8 on Tuesday, November 4th. Proposition 8 would use state law to single out one group of Californians to be treated differently — discriminating against members of our family, our friends and our co-workers. “If I know one thing about California, I know that is not what you’re about. That is not what America is about. Please vote NO on 8. It’s unfair and it’s wrong. Thank you.”
*
The calls from President Clinton went to millions of registered California voters overnight. Thank you Bill. I might not trust you around my daughters, but you did a wonderful thing.

It is amazing that during his his time in office he did try to fulfill his promises but the repulican congress stalled at every turn. Impeach for a blowjob and we now let the worst president in history stay in office while committing far worse atrocities againist the American people. There is truly something wrong with that picture.
