Hillary Clinton continues to play coy as to her presidential ambitions but possibly came a step closer to tipping her hand in an interview with ABC News’s Diane Sawyer. Clinton in a nut shell said that she was waiting to get past the 2014 mid-term elections and then would make a decision possibly in 2015. The Hill has coverage. Here are highlights:
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she does not plan to make a decision on whether to run for president before the midterm elections in November and is more likely to make the call next year.
“I just want to get through this year, travel around the country, sign books, help in the midterms elections in the fall and then take a deep breath and kind of go through my pluses and minuses about what I will and will not be thinking about as I make the decision,” she told ABC News’s Diane Sawyer during an interview scheduled to air Monday.
Clinton is currently considered the overwhelming frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination if she decided to run.
Sawyer asked if her delay in making a decision was holding the party back. “No, people can do whatever they choose to do on whatever timetable they decide,” said Clinton.
