Rick Santorum: Colleges and "Gay Indoctrination" Responsible for America's Decline

With the nation still struggling to get fully out of a severe recession caused by and aggravated by failed Republican policies and millions of Americans still left with no health care coverage again thanks to GOP and conservative opposition to significant health care reform, Rick "Man on Dog" Santorum is ranting that gays are responsible for the supposed downfall of America,  What really motivates Santorum is his religious extremism and, like so many in the GOP, his hysteria over the decline of white Christian privilege and the Christofascists increasing inability to inflict their hate and fear based religious views on all Americans.  Right Wing Watch looks at Santorum's latest batshitery eruption as he struggles to remain visible in the fetid swamp that is today's Republican Party, stirring up as much anti-gay animus in the process.  Here are some highlights:

The Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins welcomed former presidential contender Rick Santorum to his “Washington Watch” radio program on Tuesday, where the two discussed the moral decline of the nation. Santorum blamed colleges and universities for “indoctrinating in a sea of relativism and a sea of antagonism toward Christianity,” leading to the “symptoms” of abortion, gay marriage and pornography:

Santorum: The cultural indicators that I talked about earlier that are sort of going the wrong way, we're, you know, in ever-increasing numbers, less and less people here in America, you know, and believe in God, and believe in Jesus Christ, and believe in truth and right and wrong. It’s understandable, I mean, if you certainly, if you look at popular culture and what comes out of Hollywood, if you go to our schools and particularly our colleges and universities, they are indoctrinating in a sea of relativism and a sea of antagonism toward Christianity -- religion in general, but Christianity in particular. And so it’s understandable that that happens, but we, you’re right. Abortion is a symptom, marriage is a symptom, I mean pornography is, all of these are symptoms to the fundamental issue that we’ve gotten away from the truth and the Truth-Giver.
As always, Santorum is obsessed with the sexual activity of others and, once again, I suspect the man is a closet case who transfers his own self-loathing to others.  And, of course, he's been utterly silent when it comes to demanding a thorough house cleaning of the Catholic Church hierarchy.
