As the health care reform continues, it is informative to see how the USA's supposedly wonderful health care system stacks up in terms of accessibility with other nations around the world. Somehow, I do not feel comforted being in the same league as Africa and well behind most of South America. Blue is single payer and Green is "universal by other means."

Since under my own coverage it's a new calendar year, I have a new deductible to meet before coverage kicks in and, as a result, I am leaving therapy and my meds because I cannot afford to make the payments for this care. Me and many others, I suspect. And we have the best system in the world? I think not.
