Pope Palpatine Says Gay Marriage an "Attack" on Creation

I swear. I truly find myself disliking this nasty old queen more and more. Now Pope Palpatine - in an apparent hissy fit over Portugal's move to grant same sex civil marriage rights - called laws ignoring the difference between the sexes an "attack" on creation. One might ask Palpatine this question and see what kind of disingenuous BS answer he'd give: if creation made male and female for marriage and procreation, how the Hell does the Roman Catholic Church justify priestly celibacy. Oops! I forgot - celibacy helps the Church keep more of its wealth and loot conned from the ignorant and uneducated. Money always trumps creation in the Vatican's scheme of things. Seriously, the celibacy requirement undermines Palpatine's own propaganda. But then, intellectual honesty has never rated very high with the Catholic Church. Here are some highlights from the Mail & Guardian on Palpatine's latest episode of diarrhea of the mouth:
*
Pope Benedict XVI on Monday called laws ignoring the difference between the sexes an "attack" on creation just days after Portugal moved to legalise gay marriage.
*
Creatures, including humans, "can be protected or endangered", the pope, 82, told the Vatican diplomatic corps in a traditional January address focussing mainly on environmental issues. "One such attack comes from laws or proposals which, in the name of fighting discrimination, strike at the biological basis of the difference between the sexes," he said, citing "certain countries in Europe or North and South America".
*
"Freedom cannot be absolute," the pontiff said. "For man, the path to be taken cannot be determined by caprice or willfulness, but must rather correspond to the structure willed by the Creator," he said.
*
All I can say to Palpatine is "bite me."

"Freedom cannot be absolute."
This seems to be the main thrust of his problem right here. He's not so much angry at the idea of gay marriage as he is at the idea that neither he, nor his church, are the sole arbiters of what people can and can not do. Basically he is a want to be tyrant: He wants to be able to control what everyone everywhere says, thinks, does, believes while he is free to do as he damn well pleases without fear of anyone telling him he can't.
